We’re in the process of checking the blogroll, and you may want to check the next post and its comments to see if your blog is listed and why. Just little changes, not a big deal - don’t panic. We’re not Thursday Thirteen hitlers, we just want the blogroll we display on our own blogs to have fair guidelines that everyone on it can meet.
Let’s review the blogroll info one more time, just in case you missed it. I would hate to see any further misunderstandings, like this one, for which I am deeply sorry to have caused her so much upset during her recovery.
1. You do not have to be on the blogroll to do the meme. Period. You can still do it if you’re not on the blogroll.
2. You can do the meme however you want. On or off the blogroll, it isn’t moderated.
3. If you’re on the blogroll, you should link back here for people to get the code, and it would benefit you and the meme to have the technorati tag. You also need to have the blogroll displayed somewhere on your blog.
4. If you’re on the blogroll, you should participate at least once a month.
5. You can do whatever you want, really. I’m just trying to help you maximize traffic by offering the blogroll and getting linked up with Technorati and stuff. You don’t have to do any of it. If you choose not to do any of it, you won’t be on the blogroll. Not that big a deal, unless you want people on the blogroll to be able to have easier access to your blog throughout the whole week, or if you’re looking to increase traffic through linking in general.
Speaking of traffic, How has your traffic been since you started participating in the Thursday Thirteen? How many new friends have you met through it that you might not have? Do you think the blogroll is pointless? Should it just be dropped? Any other thoughts on the whole thing? Your input is welcome!

My traffic has increased tremendously, but that’s not the main issue for me. I value the comments I get. I can’t count the number of wonderful people I have met and I’m almost certain I would have never found them otherwise. The blogroll is far from pointless…I think it would be hard to keep up with everyone if we didn’t have a centralized link location.
I’m new to blogging and I’m really doing it just fun just for myself. It’s kinda my private internet thing that no one in my real life really knows about. I had 15 comments last week. I LOVE getting feedback. Thanks!
I like having the blogroll. It makes it really easy to visit all the TT’s & to check up on everyone’s posts during the week when I have a few minutes.
No the blogroll is far from pointless. I am a little anal about people having the Technorati code on their posts, just a personal preference.
I really enjoy the TT on Thursdays. I used to do BlogMad and such to get traffic up, but on Thursdays, the TT does that for me. I’ve met so many wonderful people, many of which are now regular visitors (and I of them as well).
And I’m glad to see that I’m not on the “list” for people who did the blogroll wrong. I thought I would be, because I’m so new to all this.
Though it does take me FOREVER to get through the blogroll on Thursdays
Noticed one thing that I’m not sure your folks were checking. At least 2 of the links in the blogroll (the one that is the scrolling, set size) open the page within that blogroll space, and not a new page. If I see it again this week, I’ll try to keep track.
I have “met” a lot of neat people through the TT. It really has been the easiest way that I know of to get to know folks in the blogosphere. The blogroll helps, and I do use it during the rest of the week, too
When I have time, I like to visit the 13 blogroll during the week.
I have met lots of cool people, I just wish I wasn’t so insanely busy right now and I could 13 surf more often.
I have noticed that my blog (Crazedmom) does not get that cool exclamantion point when I update. I have tried a couple of things to fix and it didn’t work. What did I do wrong?
Thanks so much for all your hard work!
The traffic is wonderful, the blogs have wonderful TT-posts, the bloggers are writing wonderful comments and the blogroll is wonderful AND very useful when visiting the participants :-)
My traffic has definitely increased since beginning with TT, and I’ve ‘met’ some of my favorite bloggers that way. From there, I’ve discovered some of their favorite bloggers, and they have discovered me, so my traffic has grown beyond just the blogroll. I also notice people clicking over to my site mid-week, maybe because they use it as a list of sites to browse when wanting to surf the internet for a while.
TT has boosted my traffic a lot. Plus I find the majority of the comments I receive are well worth while, instead of the ‘Great TT, mine’s up’
Keep up the good work
I find the blogroll very helpful for navigating around other TT’rs. Plus I use the blogroll to check out blogs during the week as well. It helps me to find other bloggers with similar interests and it’s a great way to make new friends.
I think the blogroll is fantastic, it helps me to visit the TT and meet new members! I have met some really fantastic folks thru TT and it’s one of my favorite things about blogging!!
I just want to thank you for all the work you do! You the bomb!!
I’ve been blogging since mid December. I started Thursday Thirteen just a few weeks later. And for that very reason I have a wonderful “group” of friends that stop by daily. And that group keeps growing and growing. I love to meet T13… old and new. When I have the time and feel decent I visit well over a hundred T13ers. I suffer from chronic pain and sit in my home 24/7. T13 has given me something to look forward to during the day while my son is gone. I learn a lot and enjoy the variety of T13s.
Recently I haven’t been able to participate due to my diseases/illnesses and surgery. Eventhough I haven’t been able to participate several T13ers stopped by to wish me well. It’s an on-line bond like I never knew could happen. And I’m thankful for it.
The blogroll is large and overwhelming and exciting. It is a bummer to click link after link and see participants haven’t completed a T13 for months. That gets frustrating. But it is wonderful to continually meet new people.
Thank you for your continued efforts. And remember… You can’t please all the people all the time!
My traffic has increased a little, but I’ve “met” some great people, and we have found things in common other than TT.
I can understand why people who misunderstood got upset–but I don’t think the blogroll listing requirements are too much. It’s like anything else in the blogosphere–if you like it, fine, if you don’t, click that little X in the corner
Hey Leanne,
I told you I’d report back on the sites that open within the scroll box on the blogroll.
