Welcome to the premiew edition of THE THIRTEENER CARNIVAL! In this issue we will highlight thirteen non-T13 posts from thirteen Thursday Thirteeners. The Thirteener Carnival will be published each Monday morning. The requirements for inclusion in the carnival are:

  1. The post must be a NON-weekly Thursday Thirteen list. Since we read each other’s Thursday Thirteen list each Thursday, we want to read something else for the carnival. This is a way to get to know other sides of our T13 friends.
  2. The blog must be part of the Thursday Thirteen family.
  3. The post must be appropriate and something of general interest.

We had many submissions, and we can only include thirteen of them. It was so hard to chose which posts to include. We pretty much randomly chose and many wonderful post were not included. If you submitted a post, and it isn’t included, please submit one for next week’s carnival.

If you have a blog and a few hours to spend putting together a THIRTEENEER CARNIVAL, please send an email to thurs13 (at) gmail (dot) come. Hosting is fun, but it DOES take some time to put it together. The carnival will be crossposted on your blog and here at the Thursday Thirteen hub. So let us know if you’re interested.

Here’s your job as a reader: Do your best to visit all thirteen highlighted posts and read them and comment on each one. If you can’t visit all thirteen, then visit as many as you can. Feel free to trackback to this post if you are a Thirteener and link to this post in your post. Now, on with the carnival!

Welcome to the April 2, 2007 edition of The Thirteener Carnival.

Jenny reads for us all in Sunday Morning Lessons, Week 2 posted at Me & My Musings. Jenny reads the New York Times each week, and then writes about what she learned. She covers a wide variety of topics.

Mama Duck has some ideas for putting the energy of toddlers to good use in Using toddler energy for a cleaner house… posted at Lil Duck Duck. How great is this! Toddlers have so much energy and at that age they love to help. It just a matter of finding things they can do that actually help. Mama Duck has some great ideas that should work perfectly.

Kristi presents You Just Never Know… posted at Writing My Life Away. She says you just never know where ideas for articles come from. She went to a cooking class and came away inspired with ideas for new articles. Check it out!

Sanni presents Cyber Cruise: Dominican Republic posted at Coffee 2 go. Sannie gives a fantastic tour of the Dominican Republic:

Some of the world´s finest cigars are made here from Cuban-seed tobacco brought by Cuban expatriates after the Revolution. In addition to rum, Mama Juana (called liquid Viagra), hand-rolled cigars, the Dominican Republic cultivates heavenly coffee beans. Larimar, the Dominican version of turquoise mined near the Haitian border, is another bargain.

I started on this cruise and then got sick. After enjoying the Dominican leg of the trip, I think I’ll try to catch back up with them!

Jon Tillman presents My Politics & My Philosophy posted at JONTILLMAN.COM. Jon straightens out his critics who have referred to him as a socialist. It’s not about putting a label on it, but more about what his core beliefs are. He goes on to explain. Check it out.

Friday’s Child presents While Watching TV posted at Friday’s Child saw a program made her nostalgic for a time when our lives were not so well planned and our friends and acquaintances were more diverse.

Some people contend that they are happiest when we stick to “our own kind” in developing friendships. Little do they know that persons who wears blinders of this kind will never experience the enthrallment of having as companions or friends such colorful and often vividly articulate individuals.

TC presents The Sounds of My Life posted at Ever After . . . My Way. TC shares a very well-written and pleasant peek into her home.

Nancy Bond presents Soliloquy: Masquerade posted at Soliloquy.. Beautiful poetry!!

GP presents I Made it Through the Rain posted at Fish Creek House - INNside Innkeeping, saying, “Whether it’s business or sport, passion and perseverance will keep you on the right path.”

gabriella hewitt presents Interview With A Vampire (Author) posted at Gabriella Hewitt - Blog, saying, “Drop by for an interview with Caridad Pineiro and if you have time check out a second one with Vivi Anna.”

Tess Termulo presents After The Dust Has Settled posted at Prudence and Madness, saying, “”After The Dust Has Settled” is a tribute to how a new life, indeed, is very possible, even between two people with a dark, painful past.”

Susan Helene Gottfried presents Susan’s Book Talk: Two Reading Contests posted at West of Mars — the Meet and Greet, saying, “A post about two neat reading contests.”

Marcia presents Tumbled Words: Only The Good posted at Tumbled Words, saying, “. . . So, please see only the good in this photo. . . There is always something positive to be found, even if it is only that the world is still here. With no further adieu or mouthiness. . . My first Only the Good.”

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article to the next edition of the thirteener carnival using our carnival submission form.

I’m shocked I’m included in such a great group — and that so many are among my regular reads. Thanks to the Thirteen crew and I wish you all fantastic reading.

I had never been to a carnival, so to get to be included in the first one on TT is so cool and to think we almost lost TT. Thanks Carol, Beth, Jane for rescuing it and adding your ideas to it!

Can’t wait to read them all and see where to visit next week. dance
