The Thursday Thirteen all began one morning in August, when I thought it might be fun to generate a group of networked blogs who wrote a shorter version of “100 things” every week- so that those of us who can’t bloghop every day could still get to know our fellow bloggers.
I also thought it would be beneficial to link to everyone who participated - but it wasn’t long before linking to everyone became a full time job! It spread like wildfire, and it brought more bloggers together than I ever thought possible!
In September of 2005, MommaK of Petroville joined me as a Thursday Thirteen Hostess. Together, MommaK and I promoted the Thursday 13, spent our Thursdays visiting and linking up all of the participants. It was a blast!
In January, however, we both drove off a cliff. Figuratively speaking, of course! We were overwhelmed trying to get around to visit everyone, and needed to turn the hostessing reigns over. I passed the hostess torch over to Nicole and Lindsey, who offered to host the code and do their best to get around to all of the Thirteeners.
Meanwhile, I had purchased ThursdayThirteen.com and had plans to develop and create a place for everything Thursday Thirteen related. Now here it is, and here it goes!
MommaK has her hands full lately, but Nicole, Lindsey and I will continue on as hostesses, and between us we hope to really grow the Thursday Thirteen into a community of bloggers who really enjoy getting to know the blogger behind the blog!

Long overdue, short and sweet update, Nancy, Lindsey and I continue on as hostesses, and TT is huge and keeps growing. Thanks to all who make it worth participating in!
On February 21, 2007 Leanne announced the retirement of the Thursday Thirteen. There were several reasons for this, the primary one being her dedication to focus on her paintings and career as a professional artist. The Thursday Thirteen was a wonderful devotion of time and effort and the payback in friendship was worth all of the time spent growing this project.
On February 23, 2007, Carol and Beth purchased the rights to Thursday Thirteen after Leanne announced its retirement. Not a single weekly edition was missed during the transfer! Jane is now on board as a hostess.
Carol, Beth and Jane are looking forward to Thursday Thirteen growing and becoming an even bigger presence in the blogosphere.
